Vote For Kona - A Horsey Tenderfoot That Will Warm Your Heart...

Kona might be one of the younger horses at the Vista Verde Ranch, but this summer she’s been loping to her hearts content.  If you’re a tenderfoot who’s not quite sure about western riding then this mare will be your BFF, as she’s new to the trail too. In fact, mention ‘Indian Hill' (her fave ride), and Kona will be high tailing it into the corral before you can finish your western breakfast.

Super sweet and a horse that really loves all that extra attention, this steed's actually had three different names, but somehow the last one just stuck. Coming all the way from Hawaii, Kona means 'lady,' and as she's elegant (whether in the arena or out on the range), and patient and kind to boot, it's no wonder that those Vista Verde wranglers decided to leave the name intact.

While Kona loves to eat long wavy grass from the field or out of your hand, it's your soft voice and caring nature, that she’ll fall for, as she has a big, big, BIG heart!

So, will our voters be hitting the trail with Kona? Here’s a quick round up on our heart-in-the-right-place horse-nality to help you decide…

Birth sign: Aquarius
Nature: loving; adventurous; affectionate, a totally huggable horse!
Favourite treat: Lots of long wavy grass – yummmmmmy...!

Is Kona the kindest horse in the corral?  To vote for Kona, send her name to competition@ranchrider.com (Don’t forget to add your full name, age, daytime telephone number, and email address!)  And as always, we promise to keep your details safe.

Watch out for yet another star horse-nality next Thursday and Hondo’s weekly Friday blog on www.ponymag.com
